Glenn Duncan was a serial rapist.

History[]

Duncan hailed from a blue-collar family and went to high school with his girlfriend Jane Emery, whom he often relayed to her his intention to enlist in the U.S. Marines. He did so upon graduation but was later dishonorably discharged after sexually assaulting a female colleague. Having been deprived of his goal, Duncan returned to New York and was spurred into becoming a serial rapist. He would stalk women and hold them gunpoint, before he proceeded to rape them with the gun and take their underwear as prizes to relive the encounters. His girlfriend found the underwear and suspected that he was cheating on her, leading to repeated arguments.

When the SVU investigated Duncan's attacks, suspicion initially fell on Billy Hedges, who was arrested when his fingerprint was found on the window from a store he previously worked at and one of Duncan's victims misidentified him. However, Duncan received word of this mistaken identity and assaulted another woman, which caused Benson and the squad to realize that Billy was innocent. After Duncan was identified by a more reliable witness, the SVU found his residence and gathered an ESU team to confront Duncan. However, he held Jane hostage and shot at the responding officers, injuring several. Captain Benson tried to make contact with him, but Duncan intended to go out in a blaze of glory while taking Jane with him. However, the SVU was able to storm his house, and ESU Deputy Chief Sasso shot him in the head, killing Duncan instantly. (SVU: "Duty to Hope")
