Gloria Palmera was a waitress and the girlfriend of paroled rapist Thomas Marshack, who was murdered. While initially not ruled a suspect, she later attempted suicide but was saved by Detectives Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler. In the hospital, she confesses to the murder but is ultimately revealed to be protecting her friend Louise Durning after the latter found out Marshack knowingly infected Gloria with HIV.
