Fin catches a fugitive rapist in Havana, but Barba's case is jeopardized by a political tug-of-war.
Summary[]
When Fin leaves the country to capture a rapist, Barba finds himself in the middle of a political tug-of-war battle. Also, multiple scurrilous allegations against Benson lead her to reunite with an old acquaintance.
Plot[]
In Cuba, a man is seen hugging his wife and daughter before wishing them well in the day. Much later, the same man is shown drinking tea at a café and starts to leave before being arrested by Cuban police officers and loaded into a van. Inside, he is surprised to be greeted by Odafin Tutuola.
At the precinct, Benson has gotten a call from the school of Noah and they revealed that Noah has gotten a bruise on his arm. Benson wants to talk more about this situation before she sees Fin come in with the same man from earlier. The man is revealed to be a fugitive rapist named Byron Marks who escaped custody years ago. Rollins and Carisi remarked that Fin went fishing and brought back a big catch. Benson tells the detectives to put Byron in the interrogation room.
However, his victims are too terrified to testify except Karla who wants to get even with Marks.
Benson is tucking Noah in for bed and asked him about the bruise. Noah reveals that Benson did in fact give him the bruise when she saved him from nearly being hit by the taxi. After Benson recalls the incident, she tells Noah that he needs to tell the truth properly.
Byron is presumed to be set free, Benson goes to the house of Karla Wyatt. Once there Benson finds Byron being held a gun point by Karla who tells her to leave but Benson refuses. Byron reveals he came to persuade her into not testifying. However, a vengeful Karla puts Byron through the same torture he put her through and attempts to shoot him before being stopped by Benson.
Karla tells Elana her story of being raped with the latter being horrified. Despite the pleas of Dworkin, Elana turns on her husband after realizing that she does not want her husband to raise her child. A lawyer and her official decide to sever ties with Byron from the event. Dworkin looks to Barba about the possibility of making a deal and the latter tells him to meet him at his office. Benson thanks Karla for her help, since Byron can be imprison.

Quotes[]
- Noah: I don't wanna go.
- Olivia: Come on, Noah. School is fun, right? You got... you got Teddy with you. You're all good.
- Noah: Lucy wouldn't make me go. I wish she was my mommy.
- Olivia: What did you say?
- Noah: I wish Lucy was my mommy.
- Olivia: Well, kiddo, looks like you're stuck with me.
- Tutuola: Guess what I caught. A couple of snapper, a sailfish, and one fat-assed flounder.
- Rollins: Damn.
- Carisi: Bottom feeder, huh?
- Rollins: Raped three women that we know about, and then he bolted before we could arrest him.
- Byron Marks: Most people just call me Byron.
- Tutuola: Didn't I tell you to shut your face? The whole way home, he's yapping about old times.
- Byron Marks: Detective Benson. How are you?
- Benson: A lot better now. I hope.
- Tutuola: Yeah. There he was just strolling down the pier in Havana. Didn't even put up a fight.
- Benson: Okay. Interrogation one.
- Byron Marks: I look forward to catching up.
- Byron Marks: Did I tell you how much I missed you, Detective Benson?
- Benson: It's Lieutenant.
- Byron Marks: Good for you.
- Benson: You missed me so much, maybe you shouldn't have run.
- Byron Marks: Ah, well, when the wanderlust strikes, a man simply has no choice.
- Benson: And the three women that you raped, they didn't have much choice, either.
- Byron Marks: This is what makes life worth living. The verbal give and take, the push and pull; the heave and ho keeps a man on his toes.
- Benson: Well, had you stuck around for another twenty-four hours, you'd know that your DNA matches all three victims.
- Byron Marks: I've always had a good sense of timing.
- Benson: I should wipe that smug right off your face. You shattered the lives of three innocent human beings.
- Byron Marks: [standing up and getting in her face] And I suppose your sanctimonious crap fills their days...
- Benson: [waving down Carisi and Rollins] Okay.
- Byron Marks: ...with sunshine and light! Now, let me guess. You sent them cards on Christmas for two years. Three, tops. But then you got a little busy. Who doesn't? So you said to yourself "You know what? I'll make sure I hit their birthdays this year. They'll appreciate that more." But this and that came up. A PBA conference here, a... a co-op meeting there. And these three devastated human beings disappeared from your thoughts like a puff of smoke in a windstorm.
- Rollins: But that's not what we're talking about. We're talking about what's best for you, Karla. I, I know what you went through.
- Karla Wyatt: Maybe he's right.
- Carisi: Well, maybe the light in the refrigerator stays on when I shut the door, but I wouldn't bet on it.
- Dworkin: I suppose you'd be willing to talk?
- Barba: As long as he does double digits. And the first one is 2.
