Dr. Gordon Bryce is the killer of deaf college student Kathy McKenna. It was presumed Bryce killed her over his embezzlement from his foundation, the Bryce Institute, which she was the vice president of until his personal assistant, Marcia Hendricks, got the position to cover his tracks. Bryce sent threats to Kathy to make it seem like they were from her boyfriend, Paul Crandall, to frame him.
Bryce actually still wanted Kathy in the city, but she was moving to California, so he killed her in a rage. He pleaded down to manslaughter and was sentenced to reduced prison time. (L&O: “Benevolence”)
