Dr. Greg Ross is a high-profile dentist and the prime suspect in the murder of his first wife, Morgan Dexler-Ross. He was briefly suspected of the murder of his second wife, Lisa Vanston Ross, who was really killed by his ex-girlfriend and ex-sister-in-law, Colleen Dexler.
Background[]
Greg was a celebrated dentist who originally had a happy relationship with Colleen, who was the less doted on of the two daughters of Joanna Dexler, her mother. Upset with a successful man marrying into the family by whom she considered the "black sheep", Joanna forced Colleen to let Morgan take her place as his girlfriend. Colleen was devastated and never got over Greg, eventually becoming obsessed with him. Greg and Morgan never had a happy marriage, to the extent Morgan started an extramarital affair to fill her loneliness.
A man with a conceited superiority complex, Greg's ego was wounded by the rejection, so he avenged himself by killing Morgan, poisoning her discreetly with dioxin she eventually succumbed to, leaving her with hideous chloracne. Greg moved on and eventually married Lisa, who suited his needs of notoriety and a steady family. But Colleen hated Lisa and still wanted Greg's attention, plotting to kill her how Greg had killed Morgan. Colleen inserted herself in Lisa's life by gaining her trust at pub quiz bowls, then started an online chat "affair" with her anonymously. She send her a package of cocaine to administer to herself vaginally to get high on during the chats. but Colleen laced it with dioxin and patiently waited until Lisa got sick.
Beast[]
When Lisa collapsed and retched in a parking garage, she was rushed to the hospital and only got worse when covered with chloracne. The detectives in Major Case interviews her, but she died not long after. Greg, while in 1PP, shows devastation with signs of narcissism when using primarily self-referring pronouns, which Robert Goren picks up on. Colleen later arrives at Greg's office and harasses him into not reporting her crimes.
Morgan's murder is eventually found out, and although the detectives agree he's guilty of Morgan's death, Lisa's was done by someone else and was targeted at him. Greg's arrested on suspicion of both murders, which they use to successfully get from him a blame in Colleen's direction, revealing the jealousy she had for years. Greg is still arrested for Morgan's murder, but passing him by Colleen in cuffs gets a successful confession out of her as well. Greg, like Colleen, is found guilty of murder and imprisoned.
