Griffin Dunne (born Thomas Griffin Dunne on June 8, 1955 in New York City, New York) is an actor who played three different characters on Law & Order: Criminal Intent and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
He is the son of writer Dominick Dunne and the older brother of Poltergeist actress Dominique Dunne.
From 1989 to 1995, he was married to actress Carey Lowell, who starred as ADA/Judge Jamie Ross in seasons seven and eight of Law & Order and she later reprised her role in Law & Order: Trial by Jury and the twenty first season of Law & Order, whom he has one daughter, actress Hannah Dunne (born April 12, 1990).
In July 2009, he married Anna Bingemann, an Australian stylist.
Dunne also directed the films Addicted to Love and Practical Magic (with Dianne Wiest, Camilla Belle, Aidan Quinn, Mark Feuerstein, Lucinda Jenney, and Margo Martindale), based on the novel of the same name by Alice Hoffman.
Dunne starred as Mr. Bixler in the film My Girl (with Anna Chlumsky).
Dunne starred as Nicholas "Nicky" Pearson on the TV show This is Us (with Milo Ventimiglia, Susan Kelechi Watson, Chris Sullivan, and Niles Fitch).
