Sergeant Hasim Khaldun is a sergeant with the NYPD's Hate Crimes Task Force. He was previously with the Transit Bureau, which specializes in subway crimes, and the Homicide Unit. He speaks Arabic and Hebrew with at least some level of proficiency, having grown up with Muslim father and a Jewish mother. (SVU: "I Deserve Some Loving Too")

History[]

Khaldun assisted the Special Victims Unit in a joint operation to arrest Duane Varik, a serial groper. Khaldun also helped the SVU arrest Rory O'Toole, Varik's boss at the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, after he was discovered to have committed several rapes. After the case was finished, Khaldun took Detective Rollins out for dinner. (SVU: "I Deserve Some Loving Too")

Khaldun later went undercover to help the SVU capture a ballet teacher who was using his dancers as porn stars and prostitutes. His relationship with Rollins also got more romantic as he once again spent time with her outside of work. (SVU: "Dance, Lies and Video Tape")

Khaldun transferred to Homicide Unit as it was shorthanded. He assisted the Special Victims Unit in a case involving a teenage girl who was murdered, with the prime suspect being her coworker and sex offender Lonnie Liston. He and Fin later arrested the racist Parole Officer Roy Eastman, who facilitated the girl's kidnapping and murder by his parolees and provoked a group of racists to murder Liston and set fire to the pedophile motel where he resided. (SVU: "Welcome to the Pedo Motel")

Khaldun is again transferred, this time to the Hate Crimes Task Force. They investigate a set of attacks around Christmas, but as they are short-staffed, SVU is asked to assist and he works with them again. (SVU: "Silent Night, Hateful Night")

To backfill for Fin and Velasco, who were both quarantining, Khaldun was sent over to the Special Victims Unit to assist. (SVU: "If I Knew Then What I Know Now")

Khaldun continued helping SVU when a teenage girl disappeared after going on a trip with a family friend. He was disgusted to learn that the friend was a sexual predator who manipulated the parents in order to get to the daughter and causing her to depend on him. Eventually, they arrested him after a strategy on Benson's part helped. (SVU: "Did You Believe in Miracles?")
