Helen Shaver is an actress who has directed several episodes for Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Law & Order: LA.
Shaver is probably best known for her work as an actress. Her most prominent film appearance came in 1986 as the love interest opposite Paul Newman in his Oscar-winning portrayal of "Fast Eddie Felson" in The Color of Money. In 1990, she guest starred as the murderer in Columbo: Rest In Peace, Mrs. Columbo.
In 1990, she co-starred in the short-lived CBS series WIOU (with Joe Grifasi and Mariette Hartley) as anchorwoman Kelby Robinson. She also appeared on television programs such as Hill Street Blues, T. J. Hooker, Poltergeist: The Legacy, The 4400, and as the title character of the short-lived series Jessica Novak. Other movies she has starred in include The Amityville Horror, The Color Of Money, and The Land Before Time.
Shaver also directed a number of television shows and cable movies, including The Outer Limits, Judging Amy, Joan of Arcadia, Medium, The OC, The L Word, Jericho, and Journeyman.
