Helen Rachel Slater is an American actress who played Susan Coyle in the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit episode "Families".
She is best known for her role as Linda Lee (Kara Zor-El)/Supergirl in 1984 movie Supergirl, as well as other roles in Superman related media including Kara's adopted mother Eliza Danvers in superhero action-adventure series Supergirl (opposite Melissa Benoist, Laura Benanti, Dean Cain, and Brenda Strong), as well as Lara El in The WB/CW series Smallville (with Julian Sands).
