Law and Order

Reverend Henry Sherman is the murderer of Emily Wade.

History[]

After Emily was found dead, Sherman becomes a suspect after bring brought up by Pastor Mike Butler. When Sherman gets caught, he attempts to shove Cosgrove but Cosgrove arrests him for Emily's murder. While being interrogated, Sherman claims that he left the van keys on the tire in case anyone needed to borrow the van but Cosgrove insists on searching the van. Sherman tells Shaw that he must be on his side because he is black.

At arraignment, Sherman's attorney tries to claim that there is no evidence in this murder case but the judge sets Sherman's bail at one million dollars. Price and Maroun then insist on finding a motive for Sherman to kill Emily. Cosgrove and Shaw then talk to Mike who wants to know why Sherman paid Emily fifty thousand dollars on the day she was killed but Mike refuses to cooperate.

Price and Maroun believe that Mike ordered Sherman to murder Emily and insist on turning Sherman against Mike. Whilst questioning Sherman, Sherman tells them that he is not a snitch but ended up changing his mind and told them that Mike ordered him to kill Emily because she was going to call the cops if Mike didn't return Lonnie's donation.

After Mike gets arrested and taken to court, Sherman gets put on the stand where he claims that he didn't get ordered to kill Emily and that he was lying to get a deal. Price then discovered that Mike's attorney visited Sherman in prison which was considered witness tampering but they couldn't prove it. Maroun finds out that Mike called someone else after talking to Sherman. In the end, Sherman was imprisoned for Emily's murder and Mike was also imprisoned for Emily's murder after being found guilty at trial. (L&O: "Mammon")
