Howard Earl is an unpopular student who was suspected of carrying out a mass shooting at his school, which killed four students and injured eleven others.
Students brought up Earl during the police manhunt for the shooter, pointing out his obsession with firearms and kung fu, as well as him being suspended twice for bringing and brandishing a box cutter in school. However, after Detectives Briscoe and Green tracked down and arrested him, it was revealed that he had a solid alibi during the shooting as he and his grandmother was visiting his mother.
