Hudson University is a fictional institution of higher learning located in New York City appearing throughout the Law & Order franchise. It appears to have freshmen[1] to doctorate programs. It was named after the explorer Henry Hudson.[2] The school athletics program competes as the Huskies (L&O: "Freedom Of Expression"), though they previously competed as the Hawks. (SVU: "Gridiron Soldier")

Hudson University has a pre-med[3] program, a medical school[4], and research lab[5]. It may have a medical center[6] with an emergency room[7].

Hudson University also has a law school,[8] said to be the best in the country.[9]

Hudson University also has a football team.[10]

Hudson University also has a Army Cadet Program.[11]

Some of the non-medical programs mentioned are art history[12], creative writing[13], engineering[14], math[15], and American studies[16].

Hudson may also have a library[17] attached to the campus.

Hudson University is sometimes shortened to Hudson U or just Hudson. It was once called University of Hudson.[18]

Hudson University also allows students to form a rally around campus with permission. [19]

Nicole Wallace, using the alias Elizabeth Hitchens, was employed as a visiting professor at Hudson. She was fired from her position by her lover Christine Fellowes upon being arrested for the murder of a Dean.[16]
