Hunter Mazelon was a juvenile delinquent who was responsible for several rapes in New York and Oregon and two murders in New York.
Background[]
It turns out that the true reason behind Hunter's dark behavior was because he was repeatedly molested by his babysitter Ellen Huffner, when he was seven. His mother Bree didn't find out about it until months later, after his behavior had visibly changed, and she managed to get him to talk about it. However, she refused to file charges against Ellen, later on telling the SVU team that she simply wanted Hunter to "forget about it" so he could become a normal kid, which was also the motive behind her never having him counseled about his assault. It is believed that his encounters with Ellen is what ultimately transformed Hunter into a sociopath. While visiting his father, Hunter would go onto rape older women, due to the past trauma. Eventually, a sketch was made of him, and Hunter took to wearing panty hose to hide his face.
Delinquent[]
While hiding out in the apartment of Annie Meyers, an intended victim, he got drunk and passed out naked in her bed. He was found by her and a date who incapacitated him when he tried to escape. He was taken to the Special Victims Unit precinct, where Meyers reveals he intended to rape her by bringing out his backpack that consisted of duct tape, a stocking, and a switchblade. He files a false accusation against Stabler, leading to a restraining order against him. Hunter is later put on probation but kills a woman and leaves his DNA behind, which SVU uses to connect him to his spree in Oregon. His mother drops the accusation against Stabler after Hunter spirals out of control and attacks a nurse to escape police. He drunkenly called his mother to let her know he's on a spree and correctly deducing Stabler was at the house, he voiced how he would do his job for him.
In the end, he gets his revenge on Ellen by killing her: at first, he only wanted to know why she raped him, but when she refuses to tell him, he resorts to killing her by shooting her to make sure that no one would suffer the same painful life he had. He is found unconscious by the detectives, who awake him and feeling heavy remorse, he confesses to all the rapes and the murders. Due to his actions stemming from trauma, he was institutionalized to get proper help.
