When an actress accuses a high-powered mogul of attempted rape, Benson finds herself in a high-stakes game of cat and mouse. Changes in the squad-room put Carisi between a rock and a hard place.

Dodds tells Benson that he is being transferred to the Traffic and Safety Task Force in Coventry, therefore leaving his position as Deputy Chief of SVU. Quotes[]
- Rollins: Lieutenant. We know how this works. And so does Sir Toby. He's so used to being above the law that he didn't bother to remove the footage of the other victims.
- Tutuola: Cause he knows they're not gonna talk.
- Benson: And he may have just overplayed his hand.
- Benson: I heard you stepped down.
- Elana Barth: It was my decision. The divorce wasn't, but with two kids in college it was either private practice or public bankruptcy.
- Dodds: Its not too time for you to stick your neck out.
- Benson: I will be the judge of that.
- Dodds: No, you still got work to do and gas in the tank. It'd be a wasted sacrifice, Captain. I made it a condition of my exile.
Background Information and Notes[]
- This episode made SVU the longest-running U.S. prime-time drama television series with twenty-one seasons, surpassing the show Gunsmoke.
- A clip from Gunsmoke plays at the bar in the beginning of the episode as a reference to this achievement.
- This is the first time since the first half of Season 1 in which there were only four main cast members in SVU.
- All the cast members receive new title cards.
- Carisi is now an Assistant District Attorney. He had passed the bar exam years earlier in the Season 17 episode "Intersecting Lives".
- This episode marked the first appearance of Katriona Tamin and the last appearance of William Dodds.
- Barth mentions she had gotten a divorce since her last appearance in the episode "Brothel". While the reason for the divorce wasn't stated explicitly, she was seen engaged in an affair with another judge, Edward Kofax, in that episode.
- Benson is promoted to Captain as of this episode.
- The Tobias Moore story continues in the episode "The Things We Have To Lose".
- Warren Leight returns as showrunner as of this episode. He previously left the show after the conclusion of the seventeenth season. He would depart a second time after the conclusion of the twenty-third season.
