Plot[]

The discovery of a naked dead woman in an elevator leads Briscoe and Curtis to an identity thief, the victim's own sister. The ensuing trial pits Jack McCoy and Jamie Ross against not just the defense, but a vindictive, impertinent judge from Adam Schiff's past who happens to be presiding over the trial.

Quotes[]

Joanne: I want a lawyer.
Lt. Van Buren: Honey, you need one.
[Schiff finds McCoy in a holding cell with 3 other men]
Schiff: Nice.
McCoy: Adam. [to his cellmates] Mr. Barton, Mr. Jasperson, Mr. Montoya-- Mr. Schiff.
Schiff: We're in a good mood, aren't we?
McCoy: All except Mr. Jasperson. He was just convicted of murder.
Mr. Jasperson: Yeah, and it was bull. I'm gonna be gettin' outta here soon.
Schiff: Young man, sit down.
Joanne Sullivan: My sister's life, Mr. McCoy? My sister lived in Terre Haute, Indiana. She stapled papers in an insurance office. My sister didn't have a life.
