Ida Becker is the mother of budding serial copycat killer Humphrey Becker, who abused him by locking him in a closet to try and have him get over his fear of the dark. She was always disgruntled over his fear because she named him after famous actor Humphrey Bogart, her favorite actor, and wanted to take Humphrey to the movies to watch his namesake on the big screen.
Humphrey grew to hate Ida and fail in his pursuance of a major career, so he decided to emulate the murders of RDK so he could be published as a crime writer. When Humphrey kidnapped RDK's only living victim, Jeannette Henley, and was in interrogation daring the detectives to get him to reveal her location, Ida was brought in to shed light on his background. It worked, as she not only revealed the abuse she put him through, she degraded him while taking no responsibility, infuriating him enough to confess and reveal Jeannette's location in time.
