Idrissa Akuna Elba is a British actor. He is known for his prolific career in film and television, including starring roles as Stringer Bell on the TV show The Wire (with John Doman, Frankie Faison, and Amy Ryan) and John Luther on Luther (with Indira Varma and Patrick Malahide), as well as his role as Heimdall in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films Thor, Thor: The Dark World, Avengers: Age of Ultron (with Anthony Mackie and Samuel L. Jackson), Thor: Ragnarok (with Clancy Brown and Jeff Goldblum), and Avengers: Infinity War (with Mackie, Jackson, Chadwick Boseman, Bradley Cooper, Winston Duke, Danai Gurira, Zoe Saldana, Sebastian Stan, and Benedict Wong). He also appeared in the films Pacific Rim (with Charlie Day), Star Trek Beyond (with Saldana, Shohreh Aghdashloo, and Anton Yelchin), Hobbs & Shaw (with Eddie Marsan), The Dark Tower and The Suicide Squad (with Viola Davis and Michael Rooker) and had a recurring role of Charles Miner on the US version of the The Office (with John Krasinski, Rainn Wilson, and Brian Baumgartner and Ryan in one episode).
