Sergeant John "Jack" Harley is an NYPD cop tried for the depraved indifference proxy murder of his closeted gay colleague, Officer Rick Newhouse. Harley and Sergeant Henry Rhodes created a homophobic culture in their precinct by harassing Newhouse and Officer Craig McGraw, who would later transfer out of the precinct.

Rhodes, Harley, and Officer James Davis were all acquitted for second-degree murder at trial. (L&O: "Manhood")
