Law and Order

Jacob Nesbit was the youngest son of child abuser Marilyn Nesbit.

History[]

Jacob was found having run away from his family's apartment and eating from the trash because he was hungry, alleging Marilyn restricted her children from eating enough. Special Victims investigated by evaluating the home life of the Nesbits, where Jacob's brother Adam politely presented himself and discussed the family's lifestyle in isolation and the boys' homeschooling curriculum, which the local verification systems apparently spoke highly off from face value.

With little evidence to give credence to Jacob's allegations despite his signs of trauma, the police were forced to return him to Marilyn's custody. When Jacob personally called Stabler for help, since he gave Jacob his number as part of gaining his trust to try and keep in touch, he rushed to the Nesbit apartment. Jacob was found fatally shot in his head, which especially traumatized Stabler as a detective and a father. Adam and Marilyn had fled to another family they were friends with before they were promptly arrested.

Adam admitted he shot Jacob, but refused to sell out Marilyn being responsible for making him do it at her behest. So the oldest son of the family abandoned by Marilyn, Daniel, returned to convince Adam despite Marilyn lying and saying Daniel was dead. Adam threw away his support for Marilyn and turned on her by testifying, leaving to Marilyn's conviction and Adam's release as part of his deal. (SVU: "Home")
