Law and Order

Borough Detective Commander James Dietz is the chief policeman of the Manhattan borough, who crosses paths with the 27th Precinct during high-profile and difficult cases.

History[]

Dietz typically ran his position with a no-nonsense demeanor and considering all facts before making conclusions, as well as enforcement of the law to fullest extents.

He oversaw the case of the racist torture-murder of Floyd Michaels, but until a reverend for the Black community objected, he refused to originally accept the murder as a hate crime without all the facts (L&O: "DWB")

He then reprimanded Briscoe for murder suspect Bobby Sabo constantly escaping charges, which Van Buren personally attested wasn't his fault. (L&O: "Marathon")
