Jason Hendri was a serial killer serving three consecutive life sentences for three counts of murder. He claimed to have murdered Eric Thomas, although it is unknown if this is actually true.

At some point in his life, Hendri murdered three people. He was caught, convicted, and sentenced to three life terms. Before that, he was questioned by the police regarding the murder of Eric Thomas, Stevie Thomas' brother.
When Stevie Thomas is arrested for shooting a police officer because he blames them for screwing up his brother's murder investigation, Detectives Briscoe and Green visit Hendri and ask him about the case. To their surprise, Hendri claims that he was the one who shot and killed Eric.
Later, at Stevie's trial, Hendri testifies for the defense. He insists that he killed Eric and has no reason to lie since he is never getting out of prison. EADA McCoy points out that he has no reason to tell the truth either since the state can't do anything else to him, but Hendri still sticks to his story that he shot Eric in the back of the head.
