Jayvon Brown is a man who was accused of assaulting a gay man named Eric Aquino and harassing a woman named Colleen Reynolds and her child, Dylan.
History[]
Manhattan Special Victims Unit had been on the trail of The West Side Rapist and decided to do a stop and frisk operation. (SVU: "American Tragedy") Brown had been stopped by then Detective Olivia Benson and her then partner Nick Amaro.
Jayvon was arrested for allegedly harassing Colleen and Dylan. When Dylan found a dying Eric in the bushes, he was taken in for questioning after Colleen accused him of acting strange because he assaulted Eric. As well as that, Colleen told Rollins that Jayvon had been scaring Dylan. Jayvon was furious with Benson and Tutuola and claimed he was innocent.
He was soon acquitted when it was proven he did not hurt or harass anyone but Jayvon was still furious with Benson and Tutuola and refused to help them identify a new suspect. He soon filed a lawsuit with his father against Benson, Tutuola and the other detectives involved. Benson later visited Jayvon at the park and told him that Colleen was being charged for filing a false police report and that she knew several people as well as herself had a lot to learn about being a person of color, to which Jayvon agreed that they did. He then continued his exercise routine. (SVU: "Guardians and Gladiators")
In March 2021, Jayvon went to his lawyer's office for the meeting with Benson. In this instance, he shows no hostility and invited her in the office to wait for the lawyer. He congratulated her on being exonerated from investigation. They soon discuss the methods of the NYPD and how investigations need to be done about the bias methods. Jayvon was initially skeptical of Benson really thinking this would do good but found himself intrigued by her desired approaches. When his lawyer walked in, Jayvon told her that he and Benson were fine. Garland later told Benson that Jayvon's legal team were issuing a department wide legal decree. (SVU: "Our Words Will Not Be Heard")
