Jed Karey is a civil rights defense attorney.
History[]
Karey represented Justin Vichinsky when he was accused of rape. He argued that Vinchinsky could not be the culprit and clashed with A.D.A Rafael Barba in court. However, he was very surprised when Barba announced that Vinchinsky couldn't have done it and moved to dismiss the indictment but quickly tells the Judge that he supports his choice. Judge Hashi Horowitz granted this, allowing Vichinsky to walk.
He next appeared representing John Conway a father who was accused of molesting his teenage son. He was against Peter Stone trying to make the mother testify due to the spousal privilege. His argument was supported by Judge Edward Kofax but he was shocked Stone found a way to go around that rule and to get her to testify. Regardless, Karey was able to put holes in her supposed story of walking in on her husband raping Sam. In the end, he was pleased when John was found not guilty.
He accompanied the Conway family to the SVU precinct after Sam was arrested for shooting at the school injuring several students, as well as killing several people.
