Jen Bates is a technician who assisted in the case of Victor Vargas. She ran a print he left on a vase the detectives brought that was a match, not just to one on a gun he used in three murders, but his fugitive status from Florida for his conviction of fraud.
She also found an inquiry in the records log, revealing one of the victims looked into his criminal history, which revealed the motive. Jen took the flowers in the vase to give to her mother, requesting the detectives not report her to Internal Affairs.
