IMDb profile

Jennette Michelle Faye McCurdy is an actress who guest-starred on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in the episode "Contagious" as Holly Purcell.

She is best known for her role as Sam Puckett on the Nickelodeon show iCarly (with Jerry Trainor) and its spin-off Sam and Cat (with Cameron Ocasio). She also voiced Becky the badger in The Penguins of Madagascar (with Nicole Sullivan, Richard Kind, Gary Cole, Larry Miller, Clyde Kusatsu, Ariel Winter, Jerry Trainor, Michael-Leon Wooley, Kristen Schaal, Lewis Black, Neil Patrick Harris, and Julie White), which also aired on Nickelodeon. She once starred in a commercial for Nesquik that was sponsored by Nickelodeon.

In August 2022, McCurdy released her memoir titled I'm Glad My Mom Died which detailed the sexual and verbal abuse she suffered at the hands of her mother throughout her childhood and acting career, particularly during her time on iCarly, confirming her trauma from the abuse she suffered during the shows production as the reason for not returning to the reboot of the series. At the time of the books release, her mothers abusive behavior towards her children was a hot topic by media outlets, with many praising McCurdy for her bravery and courage to speak up.
