Jessica Michelle Chastain (born March 24, 1977 in Sacramento, California) is an actress who had a recurring role on Law & Order: Trial by Jury as ADA Sigrun Borg.
She has starred in many movies such as It: Chapter Two (with James Ransone and Jess Weixler), The Help (with Viola Davis), Zero Dark Thirty, Interstellar (with Ellen Burstyn, Timothée Chalamet, and Bill Irwin), The Martian (with Matt Damon, Kate Mara, Sebastian Stan, and Benedict Wong), Mama, Miss Sloane (with Alison Pill and Sam Waterston), The Zookeeper’s Wife, Molly’s Game (with Bill Camp), Dark Phoenix, and The Eyes of Tammy Faye (with Vincent D'Onofrio). In 2021, she also starred as Mira Philips in the HBO miniseries Scenes from a Marriage (with Oscar Isaac, Corey Stoll, and Nicole Beharie), an English-language remake of the 1973 Swedish miniseries of the same name by Ingmar Bergman, which brought her more critical acclaim.
Chastain is the founder of the production company Freckle Films, which was created to promote diversity in film. She is vocal about mental health issues, as well as gender and racial equality.
She is married to fashion executive Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo, with whom she has two children.
