Jessie Erickson is the murderer of Derek Stanton.
History[]
After Derek was murdered, Erickson becomes a suspect in his murder. When Cosgrove and Shaw questioned Erickson's parents, Erickson is playing video games but gets arrested by Cosgrove and Shaw. At the courthouse, Maroun claims that bail should be denied because Erickson is a major flight risk. Erickson's attorney claims that he was acting in self-defense when he murdered Derek. The judge sets bail at two-million dollars. Throughout the investigation, Maroun holds a vendetta towards Erickson because of the similarity between Erickson and her sister's murderer and rapist.
In the end, Maroun cross-examines Erickson who claims that he is sorry for what he did and apologizes for murdering Derek. Maroun does not let her personal feelings get in the way of the case and makes a deal with Erickson. Erickson is found guilty and imprisoned for the murder. (L&O: "Second Chance")
