Joanna Woodleigh is a socialite who lost her kidneys to drug addiction and needed an exact match transplant. When her father Philip couldn’t bribe Drew MacDaniel for his kidney, he instead bribed Dr. James Reberty to kidnap Drew to conduct the transplant. Joanna was saved, and Drew was narrowly rescued in emergency care.
Joanna herself pleaded for the prosecution to release her father, wanting to pay Drew and put the matter behind her, imploring her father thought of what was best for her. Stone argued Philip would've killed Drew if it meant a transplant, which was confirmed in taped calls between him and Reberty.
