Law and Order

Joe Darwish is an American-Egyptian jihadist terrorist who was born in Brooklyn and went to the same mosque as Ali Hossam and Sam Ahmed.

History[]

Darwish and Hossam turned to Islamic extremism once recruited by Charles Cole, Sam collecting money to fund their plot through virtual kidnappings. Sam was arrested when one went awry and a scared family member shot a man, but he agreed to turn on the rest of the group by pretending he wanted to join them.

The night a bombing at a Washington Heights synagogue was to go down, the police surrounded the car after Darwish arrived late. Cole wanted the bombs set off while they were sitting there, but Hossam and Darwish refused to be martyrs and surrendered to arrest. Cole was arrested as well, but his former cellmate, Arthur Jackson, brought his own accomplices to bomb the synagogue themselves, which was successful in spite of not injuring anybody.

Cole took a plea to give Jackson and his conspirators up, but the defense strained the police left detonators for Cole in a sting that he gave to Jackson, as well as Sam providing Darwish drugs to not pull out so he'd get arrested, the circumstances used to argue entrapment. When Sam was blackmailed with a robbery before he was an American citizen that could get him deported, he testified anyway.

Darwish and the other defendants were found guilty and imprisoned on their charges. (L&O: "Great Satan")
