John Fitzgerald Kennedy, often called Jack or JFK was the 35th President of the United States, serving from 1961 to his assassination on November 22, 1963, by Lee Harvey Oswald. He represented the Democratic Party and was the first Roman Catholic president.

The great-grandson of Irish immigrants, Kennedy is often rated as one the best Presidents in the history of the United States. This is despite his multiple extramarital affairs, including with Marilyn Monroe.

Kennedy has so far been the only President known to have prevented a nuclear war, when nuclear war almost became a reality in 1962 between the U.S. and the Soviet Union after Soviet nuclear missiles were discovered in Cuba.

In June 1963, he signed the Equal Pay Act of 1963, making the "wage gap" illegal and started the process for the Civil Rights Act.

Kennedy was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald on November 22, 1963. While many conspiracy theories have arisen since the assassination, and most people suspect Kennedy may have been the victim of conspiracy, Oswald was officially stated to have been acting alone in the assassination. Oswald was gunned down by Jewish gangster-wannabe Jack Ruby on November 24, two days after the assassination.

John Jay McIntyre claimed to be the illegitimate son of Kennedy, who became notorious for his affairs after his death. A DNA test proved that he was not related to Kennedy. (L&O: "Illegitimate")
