Law and Order

John Jay McIntyre is a toilet salesman who believed he was the illegitimate son of President John F. Kennedy and had enacted an elaborate scheme to retrieve evidence for this.

History[]

McIntyre was forced to murder Ian Dryden, a man he hired to hire a police officer to collect Kennedy-related memorabilia, when the officer accidentally killed a presidential memorabilia collector while attempting to rob him. Upon discovering Dryden's body, the officer later committed suicide by cop after taking hostages.

The first-degree murder charge relating to Dryden's death was dismissed with prejudice due to improper interviews by Detectives Lupo and Bernard. However, after the Kennedy family issued a gag order over the entire case, ADA Cutter manipulated McIntyre into confessing to his role in the collector's death by claiming that a comparative DNA test proved McIntyre's beliefs, even though the gag order would have prevented this information from getting out to the public. In reality, it was still unclear whether Kennedy was McIntyre's biological father. (L&O: "Illegitimate")
