Jolene Castille is a racist Southern celebrity chef who shot and killed Mehcad Carter, an unarmed Black man, in self-defense after mistaking him for Willie Smith, a serial rapist.

Jolene was walking home one night when she noticed Mehcad, a fan of hers, following her. When she got home, she shot Mehcad when he came onto her property. At first, Jolene showed concern and sadness for Mehcad when she found out he could die. However, this quickly changed, and Jolene started lying about what happened, sharing the narrative that Mehcad actually tried to attack her.
After Mehcad died, she was arrested and charged with manslaughter. At trial, she denied being racist despite saying if Mehcad was White, she wouldn't have been afraid or shot him. She was ultimately acquitted (SVU: "American Tragedy"), which prompted Sergeant Munch to retire from the NYPD. (SVU: "Internal Affairs")
