Joseph Hannah was promoted to Captain of the Major Case Squad. Hannah was the successor to Captain Zoe Callas. One of his conditions was to reinstate Detectives Goren and Eames to the MCS. He and Robert Goren were friends since their Police Academy days. However Hannah makes it clear that friendship or not, he is to be respected as Goren's Commanding Officer. (CI: "The Consoler")
