Joyce Van Patten (born on March 9, 1934 in New York City, New York) is an actress who guest-starred in the Law & Order episode "Extended Family" as Ramona Stark.
Van Patten starred in the 1976 film The Bad News Bears (with Tatum O'Neal), St. Elmo's Fire (with Andrew McCarthy and Mare Winningham), and Grown Ups (with Maria Bello).
She is the mother of actress Talia Balsam, who has also guest-starred on Law & Order and Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and the mother-in-law of Talia's husband, actor John Slattery, who also guest-starred on Law & Order. She is also the aunt of actress Grace Van Patten, who guest-starred as Jodie Lanier in the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit episode "October Surprise".
