Kate Silva

Detective Kate Silva is a detective with the Manhattan Special Victims Unit, reporting to Captain Olivia Benson. She was originally a detective with Brooklyn's Homicide Division.

History[]

Silva joined the Special Victims Unit in the second half of 2024. She assisted the department investigating the brutal assault against a group of law students. She quickly befriended Velasco and joined him at a shooting range before starting her first case with the Special Victims Unit. (SVU: "Fractured")

Silva assisted her colleagues with the non-fatal stabbing of a young woman at a remote campground which was committed by her boyfriend. She found herself disgusted by the woman's boyfriends actions and shared further disgust towards his mother who defended her son. (SVU: "Rorschach")

Silva assisted Benson and Velasco during a hostage siege in a bodega, with Carisi being one of the hostages. She met Rollins during the siege, who came to assist her former colleagues. Silva helped escort one of the hostages, Tess Milburn, out of the bodega and helped calm her down when Tess started screaming and shaking as a reaction to being raped by one of the hostage-takers. (SVU: "Cornered")
