Katie Tolliver is a young woman with down syndrome who was raped and impregnated by Abe Cheney.

Katie was a cheerful woman with a very limited understanding of sex. This caused her to be easy prey for her boss Cheney who lied to her on sex being exercise.
When her mother Rebecca discovered she was pregnant, she took Katie to the Special Victims Unit. When it became clear that Katie was raped, the detectives tried to find out who her rapist was.
Rebecca tried to get Katie to have an abortion but Katie refused to have one. Not wanting to give up her baby, Katie ran away with her boyfriend Danny, who also had special needs, she believed he was the one who impregnated her from kissing.
Eventually, SVU located Katie and Danny with her mother accusing Danny of raping her but he was innocent and informed the detectives that when he told Katie what sex was she did not believe him. Detective Stabler inquired what Katie said sex wise and she told him that sex was a form of exercise. Katie soon told Benson and her mother of the “exercise sessions” that she had with her boss. When Cheney was brought in, he denied the allegations but he refused to give a DNA sample, proving his guilt.
Rebecca decided to take Katie to court so that she will have an abortion not wanting to take care of another special needs child. During the hearing, Katie broke down on the stand before her mother ultimately relented to let her keep the baby. It was also revealed from the DNA that the baby was a boy who does not have Down syndrome, to the joy of Rebecca.
After two suspects and a legal dispute regarding Katie getting an abortion, the detectives found Katie's rapist, her boss Abe Cheney. As a result, Cheney was imprisoned while Katie kept her baby and received all of Cheney's assets along with his five other victims. (SVU: "Competence")
