Keith Taylor is the son of Raymond Taylor, who killed Keith’s coach, Russ Crider. Keith became temperamental on the field due to Raymond’s own fury over Keith risking not making it big in hockey. When Keith got suspended from a game where Raymond arranged for team scouts to watch Keith and his team, Raymond dragged Keith along with him to make Russ put Keith back on the field. Raymond bludgeoned Russ with Keith’s hockey stick when Russ refused.
Keith covered for his father by keeping the stick and avoiding selling Raymond out even when Keith was to take the fall. When Raymond was revealed to have been there, Raymond confessed under the fear that Keith would be tried as an adult, and Keith testified for the prosecution to bolster the case.
