Keith Tyler is the teenage son of promiscuous doctor Grant Tyler and later revealed to be the statutory boyfriend of his high school teacher Danielle McCaskin.

When Danielle found out that Grant was recording their sex, she decides to have him killed. She told Keith to sabotage Grant's motorcycle so it wouldn't start as part of a prank. The prank backfired: the motorcycle did start, but Grant was thrown off the bike when it skidded to a halt on the road, Grant being killed from landing on fence spikes that impaled him.
Danielle's livid husband Jack was presumed to have been responsible when Grant's tryst with Danielle was found out, but the detectives followed Danielle and Keith and caught the two of them having sex. To flee jurisdiction, they both disguised themselves, took on fake identities, and started traveling to Canada. When their ruse was found out, they were stopped at the border and taken into custody.
Keith confessed to the manslaughter and his motivations, then was arrested with a crowd of his peers who hated Grant cheering him on. Danielle decided to martyr herself so Keith's life wouldn't be ruined, so she took a guilty plea for statutory rape and was sentenced to jail in exchange for the charges dropped against Keith. He was devastated, as Danielle was pregnant with whom he thought was their child, but she revealed the baby was really Grant's.
