Kevin Bernard was a senior Detective who was partnered with Detective Frank Cosgrove, after being partnered with Cyrus Lupo.
Biography[]
Bernard grew up in Compton, California. During his first few months out of the Police Academy, Bernard fathered a son. The boy and his mother, along with her fiancé, live in California. Bernard has not revealed his true relationship to his son, who believes his mother's fiancé is his father. (L&O: "Human Flesh Search Engine")
While serving as an Internal Affairs Detective, Bernard met Detective Lupo while investigating a shooting involving Ed Green, Lupo's then partner. Although Green was cleared, he chose to retire from the NYPD and Bernard transferred from IA to Homicide, becoming Lupo's Junior Partner. (L&O: "Burn Card")
After Lupo's departure from the squad, Bernard was partnered with Detective Frank Cosgrove.
