Kevin Rogers is a drug dealer of his mother Jenny's painkillers. Kevin also regularly abused and degraded Jenny in squalor and forced her to feel no self-worth and instead responsible for his crimes.
When Kevin killed his wife Carol, who assisted Kevin's operations as an enforcer and gang-raped Samantha Beavan and nearly killed her baby with accomplice Jake Lumet, he was arrested for murder. Kevin had found out Carol was hoarding drug money alone in an account she privately set up under a different name. Unfortunately, Jenny was too emotional and traumatized to testify on the stand, and Kevin was acquitted. To successfully get him arrested, after Stabler failed to get Kevin to slip with unofficial welfare checks on Jenny, Narcotics teamed with SVU to get Kevin on drug charges on a sting.
It worked, and Kevin was arrested and imprisoned for a few years, much to Jenny's distraught surprise especially from still suffering from battered women's syndrome. (SVU: "Blood")
