Kevin Stanton is a teenager who was blackmailed into becoming an informant by narcotics detective Mark Rivera when he arrested Kevin on a drug charge. Kevin went to catch Reggie Mathis and Oscar Benvenidez in a sting, accompanied by a friend, Sara Teasdale. Mathis shot Kevin and Sara; Rivera deliberately withheld emergency response when Benvenidez called the police, resulting in Sara's death.
Kevin originally resisted giving answers to the police, until Sara was found, and Kevin was revealed to be in restricted records in the system. Kevin gave up his informant status, and consequentially, Rivers was pressured into a probationary sentence in exchange for his testimony against Mathis and Benvenidez to get them imprisoned.
Kevin was relieved of his assignments and returned to his family in the end. (L&O: "Bait")
