The seventeenth season of the legal drama series Law & Order premiered on NBC on September 22, 2006 and concluded on May 18, 2007. The season consists of 22 episodes.
This season aired alongside with season 8 of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and season 6 of Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

This is the first season to feature Milena Govich as Nina Cassady (replacing Dennis Farina as Joe Fontana), who will depart at the end of this season. This is also the first season to feature Alana De La Garza as Connie Rubirosa (replacing Annie Parisse as Alexandra Borgia). Fred Dalton Thompson, who played Arthur Branch, left the series at the end of the 17th season (focusing on the Republican presidential primary in 2007).
