This is the first season to feature Jerry Orbach as Lennie Briscoe in the episode "Point of View" (who replaced Paul Sorvino as Phil Cerreta). Dann Florek and Richard Brooks who both play Don Cragen and Paul Robinette left the series at the end of the 3rd season, respectively. Both men would later return in guest roles, with Captain Cragen eventually joining the cast of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
