Lana Mayhew is the mother of an emotionally disturbed boy named Johnny Mayhew.
History[]
Her brother supplied her with a gun, which Lana stored in a case. She instructed Johnny not to go near the case, but the curious boy would disobey and talk about the pistol Lana owned at school, even taking it to school. This later led one student to come forward when a school shooting occurred that killed one student and injured two others.
When SVU visited her home, she was upset that Johnny got into the case and nearly slapped him but Det. Odafin Tutuola prevented it and warned her that she was already on thin ice for not doing a good job of not keeping it away. Regardless, Lana was in disbelief that Johnny was involved, but she was still told to bring her gun to the police to be examined. Since it wasn't the sniper rifle the police were looking for, the Mayhews were cleared. (SVU: "Raw")
