Lance Reddick was an actor who played four different characters on all three primary shows of the Law & Order franchise. He is best known in the franchise for his portrayal of Medical Examiner Taylor in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Reddick has a recurring role as Agent Phillip Broyles on the series Fringe (with Kirk Acevedo, Blair Brown, Seth Gabel, and Mark Valley). He previously had recurring roles on Detective Johnny Basil in Oz with Christopher Meloni, Lee Tergesen, Dean Winters, B.D. Wong, Mike Doyle, J.K. Simmons, and Kathryn Erbe, who has starred on Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Cedric Daniels on The Wire, and Matthew Abaddon in Lost. He also portrays Charon from the John Wick franchise (with Ian McShane, Thomas Sadoski, and Dean Winters) and General Caulfield on the Roland Emmerich movie White House Down.

Reddick also lent his voice as Cutler in the Disney XD show Tron: Uprising (with John Glover, Kate Mara, Marcia Gay Harden, Jamie Hector, and Mark Boone Junior) and Ra's Al Ghul on the Cartoon Network series Beware the Batman (with Anthony Ruivivar, Christopher McDonald, Wallace Langham, Michael Leon-Wooley, Matthew Lillard, Adam Baldwin, CCH Pounder, and Xander Berkeley). He also portrayed Commander Zavala (a character to be voiced by Keith David) in the video game Destiny 2.

He plays Chief Irvin Irving on Amazon Prime's Bosch (with Titus Welliver as the title character, Jamie Hector, Paul Calderon, Jeri Ryan, James Ransone, Michelle Hurd, Erika Alexander, and Ryan Hurst). He later reprised his role in the second season of Bosch spin-off, Bosch: Legacy. He also starred on the show Corporate (with Anne Dudek).

In 2021, Reddick appeared in the film Godzilla vs. Kong. In 2022, Reddick portrayed Albert Wesker in the live action Resident Evil series from Netflix, which was cancelled after one season.

On March 17, 2023, Reddick was found dead at his home in Studio City, Los Angeles. The official cause of death was heart disease. He appeared posthumously as the Greek god Zeus in the Disney+ adaption of Percy Jackson and the Olympians (with Virginia Kull and Glynn Turman). He also lent his voice in Invincible: Atom Eve as Erickson (with Steven Yeun, J.K. Simmons, Chris Diamantopoulos, and Lauren Cohan).

He was survived by his wife Stephanie Clay and his three children.
