Lawrence John Miller is a comedian and actor. He guest-starred on Law & Order in the Season 5 episode "Coma" and the Season 6 episode "Encore" as Michael Dobson, a comedy club and later restaurant owner who arranges for two of his wives to be murdered. Despite appearing twice in this prominent guest role, he later guest-starred in the Season 13 episode "Smoke" as himself, discussing another in-universe standup comedian, Monty Bender.
Miller is known for his role in the film as Walter Stratford in the film 10 Things I Hate About You (with Larisa Oleynik and David Krumholtz), a role he reprised for the TV show of the same name. He also starred as Dean Richmond in The Nutty Professor remake series (with John Ales and Melinda McGraw in the second film). He also voiced The Pointy-Haired Boss on the animated series Dilbert (with Chris Elliott and Kathy Griffin), and portrayed Dean Phillip Elias in the film Necessary Roughness (with Scott Bakula and Fred Dalton Thompson).
