Laura Chase is the wife of Reverend Delman Chase, a church leader and the founder of a charter school.

Laura never suspected for years of her commitment to Delman that Delman betrayed her, by sexually abusing girls in his school and congregation and bribing them with church funds to silence their testimonies. The Chase family were close friends of Deputy Chief Christian Garland, Delman being the minister at his wedding and the godfather of his daughter Abby Garland.
Garland's family dinner with the chases was interrupted while Delman said grace, with Christian being informed Delman was accused of sexual abuse and bribery by Sherry Blake, the church accountant who was also embezzling funds and saw the missing funds Delman was draining. Laura noticed the oddities in the checks given to the girls, but she was still in utter disbelief of Delman's crimes.
That soon after changes when more evidence mounts against Delman, including a video of Delman raping Renee Lee. Laura turned against him by apologizing to the victims and asking they provide cooperation as they could provide to the police. In the end, Delman was convicted, and it was mentioned that Laura finally cut all ties from him by rejecting his calls and refusing to visit. (SVU: "Garland's Baptism By Fire")
