Lauren Mobly is a statutory rape victim of Gregory Searle, left vulnerable due to reported domestic abuse at her home.
History[]
Searle was the uncle of one of Lauren's friends and seduced her into child sexual abuse when she was 15, kidnapping her and taking her to his cabin in the woods. Searle was suspected of murdering her, but without enough evidence and Searle not revealing where Lauren was, he was convicted and imprisoned on kidnapping, serving 20 years. Lauren was abandoned at the cabin, especially after Searle was released and changed his name to find another teenager to target.
Lauren was found at the cabin when trying to tie Searle to the rape and murder of Rachel McGarrett. She at first brandished a shotgun, out of fearing intruders, but she revealed who she was and still professed her hopes for Searle to return. She tried to have a warm reunion with Searle, but he was revolted she was now in her 40s. Lauren was devastated and realized she was exploited for Searle's gratification, believing the detectives in that Searle targeted Rachel because she had an avatar in a virtual world that bore an uncanny resemblance to Lauren when she was younger. When Lauren realized Searle raped and murdered Rachel due to using her like he did to Lauren, she hit Searle and stormed out of the interrogation room. Searle was imprisoned off-screen.
