Law & Order: True Crime is an American true crime anthology series that premiere on September 26, 2017 on NBC and the sixth Law & Order spin off. The series was ordered on July 15, 2016, and created by René Balcer as part of Dick Wolf's Law & Order franchise. It is the third series in the franchise to not be set in New York, the first two being Law & Order: LA and Law & Order: UK. It is also the only series in the franchise to be set in the past as well as being explicitly based on true events. The eight-episode first season, titled Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders, is a dramatization of the Lyle and Erik Menendez (a.k.a. "The Menendez Brothers") case.
The first and only season concluded on November 14, 2017. Despite decent ratings, the series did not return for the 2018-19 schedule. Despite no official confirmation of cancellation, the series has concluded, making it the shortest-running series in the franchise.
The entire series can be streamed for free on Tubi in the United States. In Australia, the entire series can be streamed for free with ads on 7Plus.
