Leo Barth is a campus cop at Tompkins Square University.
History[]
Barth was employed at Tompkins Square University, being head of security. Despite his occupation of ensuring order, Barth was aware that a plague of serial rape regularly happened and turned a blind eye, especially at the instruction of the superiors. Barth specifically believed rape didn't matter, nor did it even happen when it happened, when the reports would be filed.
After Lindsay Bennett was assaulted by Travis Holmes, Wesley Grimes, and Carter Pressman, Barth was notified of her situation and tried to deflect any accusation of rape when Special Victims Unit investigated. Barth tried to make it seem like Bennet was drunk after partying to hard, but he found himself overruled when Bennett's mother demanded that the cops talk to her daughter. He was annoyed and told that he'd be looped in.
When the cover-ups were exposed, including depressing a student to the point of making her stay hospitalized, SVU became more determined to arrest those involved especially when Bennett committed suicide. SVU hit a break when Joe Dawson, Lindsey's only confidant and another rapist at the school, sold the other rapists out when the other young men foolishly bragged of the rape. A.D.A Rafael Barba later revealed intentions of having Barth arrested along with the Dean, A. Meyerson. During the arrests, students holding up signs with the various statements, including some of Barth's disregarding words.
Barth was found guilty of accessory and facilitation of rape and imprisoned. (SVU: "Girl Dishonored")
